Alaister has a conjoint Bachelor of Law (Hons) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from  the University of Auckland.

Commercial law and accounting were the focus of Alaister's studies.  His strong academic background combined with his outstanding research and writing skills  enable him to provide high quality support to the Burke Melrose professional team.
